A MAN was remanded to prison yesterday after he was arraigned on a charge of attempted murder in Magistrate’s Court.
Wilfred McKinney appeared before Magistrate Constance Delancy accused of attempting to cause the death of Kareem Nairn on Saturday, December 10.
McKinney has been charged with attempted murder contrary to Section 292 of the Penal Code, Chapter 84.
He was informed that he would not be allowed to enter a plea to the charge until he is formally arraigned before a judge in the Supreme Court.
He is scheduled to return to Magistrate’s Court on February 27, 2017 for the presentation of a voluntary bill of indictment which would transfer the case from the lower court to the Supreme Court.
McKinney was denied bail and remanded to the Department of Correctional Services to await trial.
However, he was advised of his right to apply to the Supreme Court for bail.
