EDITOR, The Tribune
I thought of a good New Year’s resolution for The Tribune.
In an attempt to keep the present unpleasant political vitriol to a minimum and perhaps cut it out all together, the resolution should be to refuse to print any press releases or statements that do not make a sensible point and are just rabble rousing.
An article on the Free National Movement slate is an example but is the Progressive Liberal Party state any better? I doubt it, so in response we get something the same from the other side.
The only way to settle that issue is at the polls so let the wannabe politicians get on with their business quietly and either make it or not.
That is only a recent example but every day from both sides of the political spectrum we get statements that are unpleasant, personal and add nothing to the debate. So if The Tribune limits articles of this nature the country would be much better served.
Maybe The Tribune has already made other New Year resolutions so this one will have to go into the pot for next year.
