MEN who have made sacrifices in their roles as husbands, fathers and contributors to their communities will be honoured in a special way during the “Service of Appreciation” event at Agape Church tomorrow night.

Under the theme, “Worthy of Double Honour”, there will be a service for several ministers who have served Agape Church with excellence, faithfulness, consistency and distinction. The service begins at 7pm.

Men who will be honoured include Minister Rapeth Rigby, Elder Kendrick Moss, Elder Hugh Gray, Elder Sybron Duncombe, Elder Alphonza Ward Sr and Deacon Franklin Clarke.

The evening’s speaker will be Prophet Stephen Munroe, founder of Southside Christian Ministries International, and special music will be provided by The Ramming Brothers and Pastor Terrance Forbes.

Bishop Elect Helen McPhee and the family of Agape Church said they more than pleased to celebrate the men and fathers of church in a grand way this weekend.

“Bishop Elect Helen McPhee had a physical setback in the past two years and the extra effort given by the ministers allowed the ministry to continue successfully. This is dear to her and worthy of celebration,” said Ricardo Clarke of Agape Church.

Also on Sunday, the church will host its annual Father’s Day service where the men of Agape will take charge and lead in every area of the church.

There will also be passionate praise and worship and dynamic preaching. All are invited to attend the service which begins 10am at the church.

Prizes will be given in several categories, culminating in crowning one father of the church “Father of the Year.”

Mr Clarke said it always important to lift the men and fathers up in very special ways.

“Men are traditionally the foundation of the home. In spite of the changing perspectives, this gives us an opportunity to reinforce and highlight that, while giving the younger boys an example to follow,” he said.

During the next six months, he said, will be exciting ones for the entire church family, as Agape has entered into a strategic partnership with Storehouse of America who will give back to the their community. Many families in the past have been assisted through the initiative and partnership.

Agape will also host a back-to-school drive, vacation Bible school and conferences for women and the youth.

“Lastly, the ‘Changing A Generation’ school tour will continue, where prayer, mentorship and self-development workshops take place,” said Mr Clarke.
