A 19-year-old male was charged with the murder of a messenger at Freeport Harbour in the Freeport Magistrate’s Court on Friday.

Naki Roberts was arraigned in Court Three before Magistrate Rengin Johnson. It is alleged that on November 22, Roberts intentionally caused the death of Dwayne Augusus Jackson by means of unlawful harm.

Jackson was found murdered in his apartment at Maxim Court.

His death was the 16th homicide for the year on Grand Bahama, according to The Tribune’s records.

Roberts was not required to enter a plea to the murder charge. He was represented by attorney Ashley Carroll. The matter was adjourned to March 28 for preliminary inquiry, and he was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until that time.
