UPDATED: Three in hospital after Yellow Elder Gardens shooting

POLICE have launched an island-wide manhunt for the suspect responsible for a shooting that left three men in hospital on Tuesday, December 5.

Shortly before 9pm, police received a report that three men were in the area of a park at Nicholls Court in Yellow Elder Gardens when they were approached by a male armed with a firearm. The gunmen shot the victims before fleeing the scene. The victims were taken to hospital where they remain in stable condition.

Police also said a man was arrested after officers found a gun, ammunition and marijuana near a car wash in the area of Mackey and Primrose Streets.

Shortly after 1pm on Tuesday, Anti-Gang and Firearms Unit officers and officers of the North Eastern Division, acting on information, went into the aforementioned area and conducted a search of a property. Police said they recovered a Glock 21 pistol, 13 rounds of ammunition and a quantity of marijuana.

Investigations are ongoing.
