The descent of cyber world

EDITOR, The Tribune.

IN recent times especially during the previous election. Cyber world has descended to the lowest of the low.

It’s like a floodgate of cesspool has erupted. There is no respect for another’s privacy or feelings.

While I agree that when a person throws his hat into the political foray he is fair game for all darts hurled at him, I find it to be an act of terrorism and cowardice when one decides to attack the families of their opponents.

Hopefully now that the election is over we can now return to some semblance of normalcy.

But the pink elephant in the room will not go away.

Unscrupulous persons are continuously preying on innocent people via cyber world. These vile and despicable miscreants are penetrating the lives of trusting and caring people by posting many untruths that are causing so much hurt while destroying lives.

When the former Prime Minister Mr Hubert Ingraham opened the airwaves he opened a Pandora’s box that paved the way for all and sundry to be able to call into talk shows and say what is on their minds.

Unfortunately, in many cases, a lot of these talk show hosts are less than professional and some of them should be more discerning in their representation.

For the sake of ratings, they have allowed talk show to sink into smut.

It was interesting to read that Mark Zuckerberg CEO of Facebook is now no longer an atheist and has found religion.

Hopefully, his followers that abuses it will follow suit and use it for encouragement, enlightenment and motivation purposes.
