Rotaract mobilises community in HIV/AIDS fight

On Saturday July 28, the Rotaract Club of East Nassau set out to make a difference within the community by hosting an HIV/AIDS mural painting open to both members and non-members. This community service initiative served as a reminder to persons of all ages that they should, "Get Tested Bey!"

"For far too long, our Bahamian community has sheltered the idea of the prevalence of HIV/AIDS among us. It is the hope of our Rotaract Club that this refreshed mural serves as a reminder to carry out safe sex, better one's responsibility and ultimately cement our duty to know our status. With this we can take the necessary precautions if faced with such a diagnosis," said the members of the Rotary-sponsored organisation.

"In bettering our community, in reducing the 1 in 50 statistic, the Rotaract Club of East Nassau will continue to work towards the betterment of self, especially among the youth and young adults our nation."
