THE Royal Bank of Canada in Freeport was broken into by culprits who shattered the large glass window gaining access into the bank early Friday morning.
According to reports, shortly after midnight police were alerted to an incident at a financial institution on Explorers Way and the Mall Drive.
When officers arrived at the bank, they discovered that an eastern window of the building had been smashed. During a search of the premises, officers found that the culprits had caused extensive damage.
ASP Terecita Pinder said that a representative of the bank reported that no cash was stolen.
She said the matter is under active police investigation.

Banks should have the best in security devices.....hurricane plus proof glass.....including motion sensors......and the first instance second ....of pressure on entry should have.......immediately....sent alarm to security .....offocers....whereever......PERSONS EMPLOYED TO RESPOND SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED ....AND FIRED.......NO CRIMINA S SHOULD BE ALLOWED ....TO INCAPACITATE.....ANY ESSENTIAL...SERVICE...CAUSING UNTOLD FINANCIAL ....SETBACKS......from inability to access essential bank services ...NOway should there have been any unauthorized entry.......its a Bank for petes sakes.....!!!!

And you all wonder why we are treated so poorly by these banks! From the numerous employees over the past year hauled before the courts for stealing to this; maybe we deserve the treatment they give us!

Probably someone looking for their land papers for a mortgage they paid off 2 years ago. I've heard with several banks (i cant say RBC) you pay off your loan and it goes years before you get the conveyance back.
The fun part is, there is NOBODY in government you can plead with or beg. They say you must hire a lawyer.
So any of you out there thinking you wanna pay off your house next year and then sell it - think again!!!
