Social media is awash with commentary about the time chosen by “someone” to do road works to East Bay Street between the Bridge and Who Knows Where. Not that that little stretch doesn’t need repaving, but OMG does it have to be done at the busiest time of the year when people have the least amount of time available to sit and dither in traffic?
In 1984, Bob Geldorf and Midge Ure wrote the lyrics for a major hit song, in response to reports on the inane reporting of the famine in Ethiopia and named it “Do they know it’s Christmas.” The group known as “Band Aid” sang the lyrics, one star for each verse.
Well, we don’t have a food famine in Nassau, but sure as the devil we do have a time famine and one has to wonder if the civil servants planning such roadworks know that December would not be a good time to be doing roadwork anywhere in Nassau?
Do they know its Christmastime at all?

They don't care 'bout that. Its more important that Bahamas Hot Mix has an outstanding 4th quarter to end the year and start next year off with a bang!! The Symonettes need to cash in on their investment from the last election!
