POLICE discovered a quantity of suspected cocaine in an abandoned building in North Bimini, a senior police official reported.
No arrest has been made in connection with the discovery made shortly after 3pm on Thursday in the Alice Town area.
According to Supt Walter Henderson, officers in the Bimini Division went to an abandoned building on Queens Highway where they found a clear plastic bag containing a quantity of suspected cocaine.
He reported that the drugs have an estimated street value of $750.
Police are investigating incident.

With Canada in the process of legalizing recreational marijuana and it already being legal in a number of US states, the government will, sooner or later, have to address the issue of legal marijuana. Obviously persons from those US States where it is legal and Canada May end up on these shores ‘accidentally ‘ packing the drugs in their luggage or under the assumption that it is legal here. And while government should not rush to legalize it they they may seek to make the laws more accommodating to those who are found with small quantities of the substance. One suggestion may be to make it a ticket offense where an individual pays a reasonable fine. That way they don’t have to be detained and taken to court and visitors will be able to continue their vacation and not have to suffer the humility and embarrassment. And of course more money in the public purse.
