Parliament tit-for-tat

EDITOR, The Tribune.

WE have had three one term governments since 2002. One of the reasons for this has to do with the politicians’ disconnect with the electorate. They do not understand the things which matter to the people, like jobs and the desire for visionary leaders who could take the country to the next economic and socially secured level.

The current drama in the House of Assembly regarding the Speaker et al does not help the FNM chances of re-election, and it looks like the ruckus in the House will persist up to the next general election – as long as the present Speaker is allowed to continue on. This is bad news for the FNM as voters are not impressed by the hullabaloo, and it will erode the peoples’ favour in the FNM - as it is unproductive and will bear no promising fruit. So, the present administration is on track to be another one term government in The Bahamas.

It looks like another: You touch one-you touch all crew; even if the one touched deserves to hit the road in the public’s interest. FNM leaders have forgotten the lessons of 2012-2017. That’s their business.

I am disappointed in Speaker Moultrie, because he has tried for decades to be an elected member of the House of Assembly, and in 2017 – the people of Nassau Village has given him that opportunity. He has shown that he is just another tit-for-tat and butter-for-fat dude who is more concerned about servicing his big-fat ego rather than the people’s business. FNM parliamentarians, who support the Speaker’s selfish, distasteful, and unprofessional behaviour in the House of Assembly, also deserve condemnation. Shame on you’ll!

Even if they are said the Speaker was wrong. but they wanted to give him another chance. But not to say he was right in what he did and it is the PLP;s fault. that he acted badly. This brought them to a new low. when one calls wrong right. and they say they are Christians and good examples for children.
