Palmdale's new Spectrum Health Centre strives for cutting-edge treatments

The global pain management therapeutics market is expected to reach US $8 billion by 2024, according to data recently published by American research firm Persistence Market Research.

"This statistic most certainly includes the Bahamas, where the prevalence of diseases like diabetes and cancer is on the rise," said Dr Sy Pierre, an interventional spine and joint pain specialist and anesthesiologist serving patients at Spectrum Pain Management & Sports Medicine in Palmdale. "Many patients experience debilitating pain as a result of these illnesses. We're using integrative solutions to help them and those with chronic pain ease their suffering and get their lives back."

On Thursday, May 10, Dr Pierre celebrated the official opening of Spectrum Health Centre with other medical specialists, including Dr Charelle Lockhart and Dr Marcia Bassett of the Pediatric Place, neurosurgical and pain specialist Dr Christian Allen, foot and ankle specialist Dr Daniel Johnson, and endoscopic and thoracic surgeon Dr Theodore Ferguson. Guests included medical colleagues and other industry partners.

According to the operations manager, Dr Juanita Pratt, Dr Pierre's wide range of expertise makes him a perfect fit for the Spectrum Health Centre brand. "We're very focused on putting our patients first, and the level of expertise and care that clients will receive here with Dr Pierre and the other physicians who work with us is second to none."

She continued, "We currently offer outpatient services, pain management assistance, endoscopic procedures and urgent pediatric care. We'll be expanding our list of patient care services very soon, as periodontist Dr Rosamund Erskine, who specialises in the treatment of gum disease and placement of dental implants, prepares to join our team. Our goal is to continue to build our brand around cutting-edge healthcare services based on the needs of our community to ensure that we are truly making a difference."
