EDITOR, The Tribune.
OFTEN times, we criticise the administration of PMH, particularly that of the A&E Department. With this in mind, I’ve decided to express my sincere gratitude to the administration publicly.
I, like many other Bahamians, were either directly or indirectly impacted by the unfortunate tragedy that took place during this year’s Labour Day Parade. And due to the magnitude of injuries, I assumed A&E would have been chaotic and unable to handle the many cases. Therefore, I dreaded going. However, to my surprise, A&E was under control. I was very impressed with the system that was implemented to ensure the smooth functioning of the department.
The level of professionalism my family and I received were outstanding. We did not have to “push” our way through because obviously, the department was organised. The patients received what appears as immediate care and attention; neither did we have to wait long to see them. The doctors provided us with a synopsis of the state of our family members and updates as necessary. The level of efficiency was A1 and would hope that that would remain.
So, a HUGE thank you to the Minister of Health, Dr Duane Sands and the executive team for their remarkable response to handling a tragedy of that degree. Congratulations on a job well done!
