Matriach Gerlean Jones, Sister Veronica Smith and 'Mother' Rachael Mackey of Zion Baptist Church were recently recognised for having lived out their unique callings despite challenges and opposition--inspiring modern-day men and women of the church to follow their godly examples.
Zion Baptist honoured these three women during its annual 'Women in White Ingathering' service on April 27. The theme for the event was deduced from Psalm 1: Pursuing excellence: Planted to produce, positioned to prosper. The guest preacher was Rev Cheryl Carroll, associate minister at Antioch Native Baptist Church, Stapleton Gardens.
One of the highlights was the recognition and celebration of women of faith and works.
