EDITOR, The Tribune.
Every time the PM and his celebrated Free National Movement Administration seem to be getting it right they bungle and do so very badly. It is almost beyond logic and simple common sense to try and understand their intention towards the bulk of the unwashed Bahamians.
We are all able to appreciate the necessity for additional revenues but this crew has failed/refused to fully account for the manner in which they are spending the people's monies. They have also adopted a very bad habit of increasing fees and taxes, by whatever names you might wish to call them, on the backs of an already financially challenged populace. The middle class is being decimated as you read this. Electrical rates are among the highest and most unreliable in the region.
While I agree that it was/is “fake” news relative to the supposed 70% in electrical billings, the rate which hovers around 30-45%, is still too draconian and unanticipated. The PM and his crew have a bad public communications issue. They have, so far, been unable to flesh out and sell their agenda to the people of this wonderful nation. Bahamians, by and large, don't mind a little bit of political flam and gaffes but, too much of anything may become an annoyance. The barricades downtown the other day were uncalled for and I cry shame on the police for this antic.
The very public spat and disagreement between “Learned” Attorney General and the Hon Marvin “Fearless” Dames, my esteemed Member of Parliament, and Minister of National Security is disturbing and should be resolved by the PM immediately. This, again, is a bad case of terrible communications. Lastly, I do not ascribe to civil servants and executives on government boards or corporations, publicly speaking out against' politicians. They were appointed to serve the interest of ALL Bahamians, regardless of the party in power. To God then, in all things, be the glory.

While I agree with the caption, is "unwashed" not a truly condescending and pretentious description of the writers' fellow Bahamians?
