THE Fusion Superplex entertainment complex has sold 84,000 tickets since its November soft opening, its developers revealing they have seen tremendous foot traffic.
Tecoyo Bridgewater, the Atavus Group’s director and in-house legal counsel, urged patience from Bahamian consumers and motorists with the multi-million dollar IMAX-centred entertainment destination still in “soft opening mode”.
“We are completing the Altitude return as well as the events area, the courtyard. We are completing those areas right now, and when we have completed those areas we will have the grand opening this year,” he said. “Please bear with us, allow us to grow and learn form past mistakes, and allow us to provide great service.”
Mr Bridgewater added that the entertainment destination has attracted 140,000 persons since its soft opening in November, and anticipated a continued build-up in foot traffic given what he described as an “excellent line-up” of movies for 2019.
He said Fusion’s 4DX and IMAX theatres have proven to be customer favourites, adding: “We are going to be launching the arena initiative, or e-sports initiative, where people can come along and watch other individuals play games like Madden and NBA 2k.
“With the IMAX brand we have something called Project Empower, where we work with schools to put certain material into the curriculum. Certain students from New Providence as well as the Family Islands can come down and watch educational programmes, as well as participate in science experiments and different exhibitions as it relates to SubZero ice cream.”

Great start. Now add a marketing plan that includes Baha Mar and Atlantis where guest can be bussed to the superplex nightly and you would be able to sustain this attendence momentum. Bahamians like new things. The question is for how long.?
