Ashamed to call myself a Bahamian

EDITOR, THE TRIBUNE

The absolute horror reported on the above date of Mr Douglas Ngumi's unlawful incarceration at the Carmichael Road Detention Centre sent shockwaves through me.

How can we, as citizens of the Bahamas allow successive Governments to allow detained inmates to be treated in ways no less inhumane than inmates of Hitler's concentration camps?

Amnesty International must be called in as our Government appears to turn a blind eye to the atrocities carried out at our very own Carmichael Road Detention Centre.

You Haitian invasion sympathizers should simply pack your bags and move to Haiti. But no, you would rather sit your unpatriotic butt here and watch your country be transformed into another Haiti. You're a disgrace....probably one of those who thinks stray dogs deserve more protection from harm than do Bahamians of a darker hue. LMAO

I suppose it is all about Heather White having a superior elitist attitude.

Ok, so maybe we can treat detainees a bit better, but how can we allow illegal, unskilled, TB and malaria carrying, non-English speaking immigrants to burden and overwhelm national resources while depriving Bahamians of daily essentials in health, education etc. Its a shame NOT to speak out against it!
