LAKEISHA Curry, a young mother-of-two, is seeking the public’s help to raise funds to help pay for her physical therapy due to a bad car accident.

Ms Curry is in critical need of therapy due to paralysis in her right arm and leg, according to her mother Kenva Whyte, who said her daughter also suffered head trauma resulting in seizures and a stroke. Her GoFundMe page, https://www.gofundme.com/lakeisha-curry-recovery, has raised $200 so far.

Ms Whyte said: “Every time I talk about this it makes me cry. It’s really hurtful it is very painful. Her face is still twisted from the stroke and for a couple days she couldn’t really say nothing, but she’s trying to say words and you’ll have to try make out what she is saying.

“She has no feelings on her right side at all in the foot and in the hand but every day I massage it and she now has feeling in the foot but not in the hand as yet.”

Ms Whyte said her daughter came out of the hospital last week and is now at home.

She said: “The Lord told me she would be ok, but it is just hurtful to know what she went through. Her treatment is supposed to start next week… exercise therapy...she really needs money in that area.”

Unfortunately, Ms Curry doesn’t have any medical insurance and needs assistance for treatments. She will need $20,000 to cover her medical expenses.

Ms Whyte said they would be grateful if anyone can come forward with funds to help with her daughter’s therapy so she can get better. “We would appreciate it,” Ms Whyte said.
