THERE are Ministers who can’t go a day without being on the news. So often they appear, usually they talk absolute rubbish as one did last week. Upstaging more senior ministers is a no-no.

So Minister of National Security, you can’t arrest and break up the numerous gangs of persons smuggling guns, drugs, human traffic now but as with a miracle when The Bahamas version of the CIA starts up, miracles - we will be arresting everybody even those probably who have not even started in a life of crime but are thinking about it.

This country is a small place - ain’t too difficult, Mr Minister, to get most things under reasonable control but please oh please don’t make an absolute idiot of the police or all security agencies by making such stupid statements. Sir, if the opening of the agencies does cause what you say then there is a real issue - why and why only with the establishing of the ‘spy agency’ (that’s what the FNM called it prior to May 2017), then we are in serious problems.

Guns come from the US - as President Trump told the Mexicans last week on their border do the same. Guns come solely from the US.

Drugs - we all know they come from south of Cuba - ships, boats, planes come through a very small area - deal with it.
