MEN from all walks of life were recognised during a special banquet awards presented recently by the Living Waters Kingdom Ministries.

The first ever "Men of Impact" banquet recognised distinguished men who are making a positive impact on society. The awards, held this month, acknowledged the best in various sectors and those who are successful in having made significant contributions over the years.

Apostle Raymond Wells was inspired to host the banquet as he believes the efforts of so many men go unnoticed.

Speaking a the banquet, he said: "This evening we are gathered, having come from all walks of life, to recognise and honour men, chosen by the 'Men of Impact' award committee, who have and are continuing to make an impact in our nation."

The "Men of Impact" awards were born out of a conversation with a good friend, he explained.

"The conversation started like this: 'We do a lot for our mothers and women, but we do not do much to recognise our fathers and men in our country.' Hence, 'Men of Impact' was birthed. So tonight is the beginning of what we aim to be the first national event that will honour and bring awareness to the men in our country who are using their God-given gifts, talent and resources in helping to leave the world better than how they met it," said Apostle Wells.

"These men were recognised for the impact on the lives of (those) they have touched and their contribution to a better country. The men were not only surprised but humbled on having been nominated for such a prestigious award."

Darron Nixon, co-host of the banquet, said it was a privilege to host and celebrate some of the "greatest sons of our soil, who are motivating and influencing leaders; men who are impacting and shaping our communities".
