GODFREY Rolle got the first start of his senior season with the Southwest Baptist University Bearcats and helped the team to win its home opener.
Rolle finished with 15 points, shot 6-9 from the field, including 3-4 from three-point range of a 95-70 win over Ozark Christian. He also added four assists in 23 minutes.
The Bearcats are now 2-1 on the year with their next regular season contest against Hannibal-LaGrange tonight at 7pm.
After just 11 scoreless minutes in the season opener, he finished with 13 points in game two against Lake Superior.
Southwest Baptist came into the 2019-20 season following an appearance in the MIAA Tournament last season.
Finishing with a 13-15 (7-12 MIAA) regular season record, the Bearcats received the No.10 seed in the conference tournament and lost in the second round.
The Bearcats are now full-time members of the Great Lakes Valley Conference which consists of 16 teams.
In his junior season, the Abaco native started 27 of 30 games. He averaged 11.4 points on 48 per cent shooting from the field, 38 per cent from three-point range and 78 per cent from the free throw line while grabbing 2.6 rebounds and dishing 1.7 assists per game.
Rolle transferred to SBC following a successful two-year stint for the North Platte Community College Knights.
As a sophomore he averaged 19.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. In his freshman season he averaged 13.2 points and 3.7 rebounds per game on 53 per cent shooting from the field and 45 per cent from three-point range.
Following his tenure with the Agape Christian Eagles in Abaco, Rolle matriculated to the Sunrise Christian Academy Buffaloes in Kansas alongside Radshad Davis and Charles Bain who both currently play at the Division I level with the UTA Mavericks and Robert Morris Colonials respectively.
