FOUR men appeared in Magistrate's Court yesterday to face separate murder and attempted murder charges.
In the first arraignment, Marquin Williams, 20, of Willow Tree Avenue, stood before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt accused of intentionally causing the death of Travis Knowles on Tuesday, November 19.
According to initial reports from police, shortly after 11pm on the day in question, two men were at Ash Lane, Pinewood Gardens in the vicinity of Mt Tabor Church when they were approached by a man they knew, who shot them and fled the area. Both men were taken to hospital, where one of them later died from his injuries.
Williams was told yesterday that he would not be required to enter a plea to the charge and was remanded to the Department of Correctional Services until January 21, 2020.
In the second arraignment, Travon Lockhart, 23, Malik Rolle, 22, and Ashton Robeldo, 22, all of Yellow Elder, also stood before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt accused of attempting to cause the death of Kelvin Clarke and Andronic Cash on Sunday, November 17.
The three men were also charged with four counts of possessing of a firearm with intent to endanger life. It is alleged that while concerned together, the group possessed a silver .45 Colt Defender pistol and a black AK-47.
The three men were not allowed to enter a plea to the charges and the case was adjourned to January 21, 2020. Bail was denied and they were remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services in the interim.
