SOFTBALL

NPSA FINALS

THE New Providence Softball Association's best-of-seven fastpitch softball championships will get underway on Saturday night in the Banker's Field at the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex.

In the ladies' opener at 7pm, the Inventive Intellect Lady Warriors will take on the defending champions and pennant-winning Sunshine Auto Wildcats. That will be followed by the men's feature contest between the Commando Security Truckers and the defending champions and pennant-winning CS Enterprise Hitmen.

Game two in both series will be played on Tuesday.

This year, instead of playing to participate in the Bahamas Softball Federation's National Round Robin Tournament, the two winning teams will play in the BSF's Inter-Island All-Star Tournament over the weekend of November 1-4.

The event is being used by the BSF as a fundraiser to assist its member associations in Grand Bahama and Abaco, who have been affected by the passing of Hurricane Dorian.
