The Office of the Prime Minister says a voice note on social media claiming that a country-wide 30-day shutdown will be announced on Monday is false.
“These claims are completely false and should be ignored,” the Office said in a statement. “The voice note could lead to panic and a run on stores that can harm efforts to contain the COVID-19 virus.”
The matter has now been turned over to the Commissioner of Police for further investigation.
The statement said the Prime Minister wishes to once again plead with the public to refrain from putting out and spreading false and potentially harmful information.

they've lost credibility. They told us not to panic buy last week then 3 days later they shut everything down without notice. The police commissioner then came out and said noone should be on the street because when the PM made his speech all of you should have rushed out and bought 2 weeks of groceries.

But I have and do. For years. (Welcome) On this specific matter and before any curfew I said there should be a national coordinated program for businesses to check temperatures of workers. Carefully planned that was an easy first step. High temperature? Go home for 8 days. I said they should have an escalation plan that everyone is aware of not spring things on the public dramatically. Just yesterday I said while Dr Sands has to focus on this issue in front of him a completely separate health team shoukd be planning for the border opening, the upcoming flu season AND hurricane season. what for example happens if people need to seek shelter during a hurricane and covid19 is still with us? what happens when people start getting colds in December?
I've proposed other approaches to many challenges. The problem is this entire country is run like a beauty contest. Noone listens unless you have social status. Noone reads and when you point out pitfalls rather than assessing if there is even the slightest merit in what was said, the attacks start. If we ever get to the day when we recognize that the man on the street could have better ideas and be more forward thinking than the head of the chamber (just an example) we'd be in a great place
Again your frustration with my comment doesn't take away the fact that if what they say doesn't match what they do, people will stop listening. And what theyve said didnt match what they did. Don't panic then they shut everything down.

just to be clear I completely agree with the tactic of keeping people home. I just think it should have been rolled out better. We had from January/February to work an orderly shutdown out. We wasted time trying to be like Trump. I've said on numerous occasions since that, that ship has sailed. I realize even though it wasnt planned properly it had to be done. But it does not mean they have to be excused for continuously doing it. Watch Gov Cuomo rather than Trump. Thats a leader. Follow his example. He said ~we cant keep reacting. We have to anticipate and prepare accordingly
Let us know what we're looking for at the end of this week, what's the attack plan this week? How are we ensuring tgat we're covering critical areas as best we can given our resources. People want information.

Someone remind Tweedle-Dumb Minnis that chief reporter Khrisna Russell wrote the above words in an article published in the March 24 edition of The Tribune following a press interview with Carl Bethel. And of course Minnis is on record as following the advice of his experts. It seems Minnis is now having his Commissioner of Police waste his time investigating the AG when there are so many other much more important things he should be doing. What a pathetic joke!

Minnis probably thinks there's a difference between a 24/7 curfew and a country-wide shutdown. If so, perhaps he should tell us what he thinks that difference is. Ordering everyone to just stay locked-up in their home until he says otherwise was never going to be a realistic option for many good reasons. Many of the financially strapped elderly living in delapidated homes with serious pre-existing medical conditions are probably just as likely to die from a prolonged total lockdown situation as they are from contracting the Red China Virus. But the 'stay at home and die' policy for the more vulnerable elderly may be Minnis's game plan to help with the rationing of very limited healthcare resources down the road during the peak period of seriously ill Covid-19 patients who are younger and more likely to survive their illness.

I say give the people a stiff fine and let them go. why jam people in a cell then send them on their way 24hrs later as newly infected carriers?
