Why the vaccine controversy?

EDITOR, The Tribune.

From our birth to the age of 18 years we receive 16 vaccinations some via multiple doses.

They are, amongst others, polio, rubella, chickenpox, measles, diphtheria and whooping cough.

Because of vaccinations our life expectancy has gone up exponentially.

Some diseases have been eradicated by vaccination, namely smallpox, and soon polio.

Vaccinations have made our lives immeasurably better.

Over the last 12 months the world has been in the grips of COVID. Our lives and our economies have been in effect put on hold. It has been the worst year of all our lives.

Enter the scientists, the brightest people on the planet have developed in record time safe and effective vaccines to combat and hopefully defeat COVID.

The principles used to develop the COVID vaccine are identical to the existing vaccines we all receive as children.

There is no controversy about our childhood vaccines, it’s totally accepted by all sections of society.

Why then the extraordinary outcry about this vaccine?

What is the difference between this COVID vaccine and the plethora of all the other vaccines already circulating within our bodies?

Stupidity and ignorance is unfortunately and predictably the answer.

In years to come our children will receive one extra vaccine ie for COVID and the controversy will simply disappear.

Looking to the near future people who refuse the vaccine will become pariahs.

They will be unemployable. Society will deal with them harshly.

Try getting on a plane 12 months from now without the vaccine.

Try getting your job back at Atlantis or Baha Mar without the vaccine.

Whether we like it or not the world community will insist on a COVID vaccine passport in some form or another.

Hopefully COVID will disappear into history and we will all look back with relief, however I strongly suspect in the fullness of time other dreadful diseases will evolve. It’s the nature of life.

This vaccine is not like the others dumb-dumb. It's more like gene therapy than a vaccine.

Uh yeah exactly, and all of that is not a good thing for human freedom. Sounds a lot like the Beast System laid out in the Bible. This is all about control, forcing people to take unproven bioweapons into their body is a violation of the principles of the Nuremberg Code on human experimentation. You understand NOBODY knows the long term effects of these new "vaccines" right? If anything happens to you the companies are also indemnified, you could drop dead and they don't break a sweat, you'd be just another number. And people have already dropped dead after taking this vaccine, nobody cares.

Keep supporting nonsense like this and one day the government will do something you really don't want to go along with, you will complain about it, and they will squash you like a bug, just like they'll do to us who don't want the shot... People just love the authoritarian boot until it's on their neck.

well I can't help but agree with that because it's true. I can't take a "vaccine" to avoid being a victim of violent crime in this country, which is way more scary than Covid. I just have to learn to live with it. So why all the fear mongering to make us take unproven "vaccines" for Covid? Why can't we learn to live with it? Because there is money to be made for those pushing the vaccines, that's why.

This is all one giant scam just out to make money at our expense and I don't feel like playing along. Pharmaceutical companies will make many Billions from this nonsense after forcing basically everyone in the world to take their product by force. With so much money slushing around, it's easy enough for them to buy off the news media which you trust, the politicians you trust, the health professionals you trust and everyone else in on the scam. If they can push phoney wars like the Iraq War in which the media and everyone else lied, then you better believe they will push a phoney pandemic. It's a Pharmaceutical Industrial Complex!

What's causing economic destruction is not Covid, but mass media fueled hysteria about Covid and government imposed lockdowns. As for deaths, Covid is a virus with a 99.9%+ survivability rate for most people.

You really are showing your lack of scientific acumen and understanding of gene therapy. Go back to your bible and keep repeating the same BS about long term effects & unproven this and unproven that. God, how the heck did the US manage to put a man in space without knowing the long term effects. A great moment in history was accomplished by doing so.

There are so many logical fallacies in the letter above, that it must have been written as a joke. Non sequitur, ad ignoratium, straw man.

The vaccine must work because orther vaccines worked in the past. (Does not follow).

The vaccine must work because doctors are brilliant. (So was was the nazi Dr. Joseph Mengele, the angel of death).

Finally, it is incontrovertible that the vaccine must work because you pariahs are stupid.

This must have been written by a political candidate.

How about the fact that hundreds of millions of vaccines have already been given over the past 6 months and there are, statistically speaking, no issues. There are anecdotal stories among the poorly educated, but no documented, statistically significant, issues. If you have other DATA, please share. No stories please, numbers.

Reminds me of the arguments of the tobacco companies. It took decades to show that smoking did cause cancer and other ailments. Back in the day, sodas were considered healthy to give kids energy and, to this day, there is still resistance to consider it unhealthy.

A few years ago there was a fancy diabetes drug called advanta. It took several years yo discontinue use as it caused cancer.

The diet drug combination phen-fen, was so eonderful but it took years to show it was killing people. I actually saw the results on a couple of co-workers but my doctor discouraged me from using it. All three co-workers died.

So, it might take several years before the millions of people die ftom it.

You can preach, but do not call people stupid.

Again I say, why should I sacrifice when the young eill continue to party and the elite will do what they please?

Politicians and the,armed forces continue their events, and now, low and behold, there us an increase in cases in the armed forces.

Can't find anything on Advanta, seems no such beast exists. Maybe you meant Metformin? Last word on that?

The FDA announced in February that laboratory results found that FDA-approved metformin products do not contain excessive levels of NDMA. So no cancer worries there.

As for big tobacco that is 100% irrelevant to your anti-vax argument.
