Body fished from waters off Bay Street dock

POLICE fished a partially decomposed body from waters off the former Pioneers Shipping Dock located on Bay Street yesterday.

Police say shortly before 9am yesterday, officers were called to the area. While there, the officers fished the body of a male from the water.

Although a suspected drowning, police will await an autopsy report to determine the exact cause of death. Police are also waiting for the identification of next of kin to determine the victim’s identity.

In other crime news, police in the capital arrested a man for drug possession.

Police, acting on intelligence, discovered marijuana at Lynden Pindling International Airport on Monday.

Shortly after 2pm, officers from the Airport Police Station at Lynden Pindling International Airport, acting on intelligence, arrested and took into custody a man from the United States after he was discovered with a quantity of suspected marijuana. He is expected to be formally charged in court later in the week.

An investigation into this matter is continuing.
