Well-known Grand Bahama engineer and contractor Philip T English died this weekend while in hospital.
Mr English, a British native, was a long-time resident of Freeport and a “key figure” in the construction and engineering industry.

Mr English, PE C Eng, MICE, MASCE, is survived by his wife, Gina, and their children. She and her husband, also owned the Q Lounge, a recently established restaurant and nightspot in Freeport.
Consultant Peter Adderley, of Creative Works, said Mr English will be missed.
“He followed his heart and made Grand Bahama his home. He was a talented contractor, and his work remains a fixture throughout the Freeport area,” he said. “He bore a warm spirit and contributed much to a once booming Grand Bahama economy.”
Mr Adderley said his partnership with his wife, Gina English, was something to behold. “They worked magic and added a touch of elegance and class to Freeport’s growth. He loved his Anglican Church and Gina, his children, and his family meant everything to him.
“The Grand Bahama community has lost a key figure and dear friend. Phil English defied the odds and proved impressively that white boys can in fact jump. Heartfelt condolences are extended to his loving wife, children, entire family, colleagues, and friends,” Mr Adderley said.
