TAVARIO Miller helped his club extend their win streak, David Nesbitt scored a season high, and Jaraun Burrows led his club into the break with another season high to highlight Bahamian basketball players in various leagues across Europe and South America.
Miller, in his first season with Minas Belo Horizonte of Brazil’s Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB), helped the club to a seven-game win streak and improve to the league’s second best record at 11-2.
He finished with 12 points and nine rebounds on a perfect 6-6 shooting night from the field in a 71-68 win over Unifacisa.
Miller is averaging 10.2 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.
In the FIBA Champions League Americas, Miller is averaging 12.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
He also posted 11 points and four rebounds in a 79-63 win over Caxias Do Sul.
Miller had a season high 19 points and seven rebounds in a 109-75 win over Mogi and scored 10 points in just 18 minutes of a 79-67 win over Pato Basquete.
In his first season with Boca Juniors in Argentina’s Liga Nacional de Básquet, Nesbitt has averaged 9.6 points and 4.7 rebounds per game and averaged 55 percent shooting from the field and 38 percent from three-point range.
His season high 22 points ended a two-game losing streak and powered Boca Juniors to a 94-74 win over Union SF.
Boca is currently in the seventh position in the league standings at 7-4.
In the Champions League, Nesbitt is averaging a team high 14 points per game, including a 22-point effort in a 71-62 win over Universidad de Concepion.
He continued his momentum from the first window of the FIBA World Cup ‘23 Americas Qualifiers last month when he averaged 15 points per game in a pair of losses to Canada.
Kino Burrows and his St Thomas Basket Le Havre club improved to 10-5 at the winter break and third in Group B in France’s NM1 League.
Burrows scored a team high 24 points on 11-17 shooting from the field. He also grabbed seven rebounds and dished out four assists in a 90-77 win over top-ranked Caen (12-3).
After a slow 2-4 start to the season, Le Harve has won eight of their last nine games and three in a row.
On the season, his first with the club, Burrows is averaging a team high 14.8 points and 4.7 rebounds per game on 64 percent shooting from the field.
