A 47-year-old man who denied gun-related charges was yesterday granted bail ahead of his trial.
Troy Bethel appeared before Magistrate Samuel McKinney, charged with being in possession of an unlicensed firearm and a quantity of ammunition.
Police alleged that they found a black Taurus 9mm pistol and 12 live rounds of 9mm ammunition on Bethel on November 16.
During his hearing, he pleaded not guilty to the offences and his case was adjourned to January 25 for trial.
Magistrate McKinney granted the accused bail at $5,000 with one surety and also ordered him to report to the Wulff Road Police Station on Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays.
A minor also appeared in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday, facing similar charges.
The 17-year-old is accused of being in possession of a Black Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol and four live rounds of ammunition on November 15.
The teenager pleaded not guilty to all of the charges during his hearing before Magistrate Cara Turnquest- Deveaux yesterday.
He was granted $8,000 bail with two sureties and the case was adjourned to February 8.
