All packed close in on Bahamasair

EDITOR, The Tribune.

The following was sent to my iPhone today that I thought might interest your readers. The letter writer said:

My observations from my trip last week to my other home in Florida, 85 per cent of the people are wearing masks. I was surprised by the number of old people that were not. (Guess they felt lucky). Social distancing was maintained in all stores and areas until I got on Bahamasair coming home and we were packed in like sardines.

I was in seat 9D. Upon leaving the plane I turned around and from the wings down all seats were empty of passengers. I thought how odd that they would pack us all to the front of the plane when the whole back was empty.

Well, at Customs I saw a woman get off with what looked like all her household furnishings. Huge boxes with chairs and I guess couches, etc. So whoever this woman was obviously had enough pull to put so much weight into the luggage section of the plane that to balance it we had to all cram into the front!

Like, seriously, imagine risking all our lives being jammed together for someone’s home goods?

JUST CURIOUS

It's unfortunate you didn't get a photo of her at Customs to send along to The Punch with your letter above. Chances are many of us would know who she is.

I flew in a short while ago on Bahamasair, have to say I was shocked in Florida as not many seemed to care. However when i got back a Gentleman was met at the area you get off the plane and then him and his family were walked through everything. Including customs with a number of porters carrying their bag. You could hear all of us in the line suck teeth at that. Nothing will change as long as we bow to those in power and let them get away with everything they want.
