Funeral service for Jonathan “American Boy, Chip” Dorsett, age 72 of Sunlight Village and formerly of Old Bight, Cat Island will be held on Saturday, February 15th 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at. Zion Baptist Church, East & Shirley Streets. Officiating will be Apostle Livingston Lynes, assisted by Rev. T. G. Morrison. Interment will follow Woodlawn Gardens Cemetery, Solider Road.
Left to cherish his memories forever are his children: Yvette Dorsett, Regina Oshadiya of Maryland, DC and James Dorsett of Atlanta, GA Adopted son: George St. Jour; Brothers: Leroy Mackey, Ersom & Bertram Dorsett Jr; Sisters: Geneva Dorsett, Mazie Simmons, Tezerene Gray, Suziemae Dorsett, Barbara Smith and Beulah Hart; Grandchildren: Lashanta Knowles, Veronica and Rickia Bonimy, Gabrielle Oshadiya, Jaden, Jasmine and Jamar Dorsett; Great grandchild: Jayla-Marie Rolle; numerous nephews and nieces including: Barron, Shelton and Thomas Mackey, Derek Davis, Leanna Therese Miller, Natasha and Antonette Mackey, Sandra Knowles-Minor, Sybeline Cooper, Theresa Sands-Dawling, Keva, Tabatha and Raquel Davis; sons- in law: Robert Rahming and Adetayo Oshadiya, Numerous grandnieces and grandnephews and a host of other and friends including: O. C. Pratt and family, David Seymour and family, Warren ‘Doc’ Thompson and family, Christopher Clarke and family, William Butler and family, The Dawkins Family, The Mackey family, Bishop Christopher Minnis and The Greater Bethel Cathedral Family, the staff of The Betty K. Shipping Company, Olgamae Deveuax and family, Robert Rahming and family, Raphealita Bowles and family, Patricia Darville and family, Corene Bowles and family, Philip Rolle and family, Freddie Mackey and family, Maude Rolle and family, Verdel and Ralph Johnson and family, Voice of the Watchmen church family, Zion Baptist Church East and Shirley Streets family and The Sunlight Village family and many others too numerous to mention.
The body will repose in the Blessed Redeemer Chapel at Ferguson’s Funeral Directors, 7th Terrace Collins Avenue, on Friday from 10:00 am - 5:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 12:00noon until service time.
