OFF THE SPECTRUM: Be a part of the puzzle

OFF THE SPECTRUM: Don’t be so down
Down syndrome (DS) is a disorder that has been around for ages. Frankly, before I became knowledgeable of the origin of the name Down syndrome, I detested it. To me, it evoked sadness. Off the Spectrum: Don’t quit being so sensitive
I was recently on a radio show where the topic of discussion was sensitivity in the special needs community. I couldn’t agree with her more.

A parent asked me, “Is it too late for my autistic teenage son to receive early intervention?” Based on the definition of early intervention, the answer could be yes. However, it’s doesn’t have to be. Let’s explore this a bit more.
