A TEENAGER was shot in the face when a car pulled up alongside him in Baillou Hill Road and one of the occupants opened fire.
Police say the 17-year-old was standing at the junction with Cowpen Road when two men approached in a white Nissan Altima at around 9.15pm on Friday.
The shooting was one of two in Baillou Hill Road within an hour that night, according to police press liaison officer Sergeant Chrislyn Skippings.
Police say the teenager was shot when an altercation kicked off between him and one of the occupants of the car who then pulled out a shotgun and fired at the teen.
The 17-year-old, of McKinney Drive, has not been identified by police. He received gunshot injuries on his face and was taken to hospital by an Emergency Medical Services ambulance.
His medical condition has not been reported by police.
A 45-year-old man of Cowpen Road is being questioned.
Less than an hour later a man was shot by an armed robber who held him up near the Robinson Road junction in Baillou Hill Road.
Police say the man, who they have not identified, was threatened at gunpoint by a man who demanded money from him at around 10pm on Friday.
The gunman stole his victim's cash and fired at him, hitting him in the left leg before running off towards Yellow Elder.
The injured man was taken to hospital in a private vehicle for treatment.
Police are not aware of his current condition, however Sgt Skippings said detectives are following significant leads in the investigation.
