Bahamas-based shipping companies have committed to making counter-piracy efforts a priority within their organisations, following the recent agreement signed between this nation and the US.
The US Embassy, in collaboration with Campbell Shipping Company and Clipper Group Management, co-hosted a reception at The Balmoral Club to commemorate the signing of a Counter Piracy Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the US and the Bahamas.
The MOU provides the international legal framework for prosecution of piracy attacks against Bahamian-flagged vessels.
The US State Department’s acting assistant secretary for political-military affairs, Tom Kelly, and US Charg d’Affaires, John Dinkelman, led the US delegation.
The private sector was represented by co-hosts Lowell Mortimer, president of Campbell Shipping, and Niels Jensen, director of Clipper Group Management (Nassau).
Both Mr Mortimer and Mr Jensen committed to making counter-piracy efforts a priority in their respective companies, which was illustrated during the reception by a short documentary and presentation on piracy attacks.
Other attendees included minister of national security, Bernard Nottage; minister of foreign affairs and immigration, Fred Mitchell; attorney general, Allyson Maynard-Gibson; and minister of transport and aviation, Glenys Hanna-Martin.

Today, all the procedures of checking a boat are automated and more efficient. Therefore, every company that manufactures and sell boats, large or small, must invest a lot of money in boating equipment, boat lift products from http://lunmarboatlifts.com/">http://lunmarboatlifts.com/, security and protection measurements and so on. Also, they should invest in security measurements against these piracy attacks. A passenger or a boat owner must feel safe while he is on board.

For certain, every citizen wants safe waters, to sail without any concerns, to fish in open waters or to dive in a nice Sunday morning. With the right scuba diving equipment bought from http://www.elitedivers.com/#!ab-biller-…">http://www.elitedivers.com/#!ab-biller-… and with some lessons taken also at this center, someone can become an expert in this activity. Now, all he needs is safety waters.

Everyone wants safe waters, especially those people who have to work daily or weekly on ships. It is not easy to have such a job and truly, it is enough that they can be injured daily doing a specific activity, they don't want to be the pirates victims. A professional lawyer, like the one from http://rickplezia.com/Jones_Act.php">http://rickplezia.com/Jones_Act.php will represent anyone injured or aggrieved in any type of maritime activity, but in such situations, when the offenders weren't caught, there is nothing to do.

No one wants to be attacked by pirates, but sometimes these things happen. Therefore, anyone who wants to sail offshore, no matter that he owns a small boat or a beautiful yacht, he should repair it first. People are pleased with the http://www.mmimarine.com/mmi/index.php?…">discount marine parts from MMI Marine Online Store. Therefore, anyone who can buy them, should do so.
