According to reports, around 9am the officer was travelling by police motorcycle on the airport road near John F Kennedy Drive when he lost control of his bike and crashed into a utility pole.
He succumbed to his injuries at the scene, according to Assistant Commissioner of Police Stephen Dean.

well, i can only hope that this didn't happen at 9am because i passed at 10:10 am and the officer was lying on the ground with a few other officers there and there was no ambulance or other support - hate to think he was there for an hour waiting. definitely worth confirming timing and response I think.
