Christ Community Church celebrates 18th anniversary

MEMBERS of the Christ Community Church held a four day anniversary celebration that brought together over three hundred people.
They danced and sang in praise and worship for the church’s 18 years of existence. Edris Cunningham, church administrator and director for worship said there were several activities held that led up to the anniversary service held last Sunday.

“We began with a mission focus that started on April 3 to April 7. We had a guest speaker, Donna Baptiste, come in from New York City,” said Ms Cunningham.
She told Tribune Religion, three evenings were focused on missions, where Ms Baptiste encouraged the church to do more in terms of their missions. “ She had the congregation broken into groups, where everyone was interactive with each other,” said Ms Cunningham.
She said there was also a baptism service, where over 20 persons were baptized on Saunders Beach. Following the baptism was a prayer breakfast where Ms Baptiste spoke to the women of the church.

“She focused on the purpose that women have in accepting who they are. She encouraged women to quit complaining about what is wrong with them and focus on what is right,” said Ms Cunningham.
The festivities ended with the church service, where members celebrated 18 years as a church. Dr Rex Major attended the service as a guest speaker.
