Jordan visit in bid to host Bahamas film conference

BAHAMAS Film Commissioner Craig Woods paid a visit to Jordan to discuss the possibility of holding a major film conference in the Bahamas.

Mr Woods made the trip at the invitation of Jordan’s film commissioner, David George, who is also president of Association of Film Commissioners International, (AFCI).

The Bahamas has been an active member of AFCI for the past 15 years, and the Bahamas and Jordan’s film commissioner are exploring the possibility of holding one of the organisation’s national conferences in the Bahamas.

While in Jordan, Mr Woods visited Petra, which was used in scenes for several big-budget Hollywood productions.

AFCI is the official professional organisation for film commissioners who assist film, television and commercial production crews with aspects of their projects.

The organisation is a non-profit educational association whose members serve as city, county, state, regional, provincial, or national film commission jurisdictions.

With more than 300 AFCI-member film commissioners on six continents, AFCI Film Commissioners are always anxious to service the next project.
