Swift swimmers lower national records in 50 breaststroke

IN the last two opportunities in December, the Orca meet and a Bahamas Swimming Federation time trial, two Swift swimmers lowered the Bahamian record in the 50 breaststroke.

Cecily Bowe, swimming in the 10-and-under girls age group, and Victoria Russell, swimming in the 11-12 girls age group, accomplished the feat before they both move up to new age groups starting in 2014.

Bowe set the record in her age group with a 39.94 seconds in the 50 breaststroke and Russell set her record with a 35.83 time also in the 50 breaststroke.

Both girls will now focus on representing the Bahamas at CARFITA in their new age groups.
