ROCK legend Alice Cooper’s planned Halloween concert cruise to the Bahamas has been sunk due to poor ticket sales.

The pop icon was to set sail on The Ship of Fear Cruise from Miami to the Bahamas on October 28 for five days of live performances at sea.

But the excursion has now been scrapped and organisers have blamed a lack of “consumer demand” for the cancellation.

A statement said: “After careful consideration, we have decided not to continue with The Ship of Fear Cruise and we will not be sailing in 2013. Those guests who already purchased cabins will be given a full refund. We feel that we had a strong combination of talent, programming and promotion; however, we did not receive the consumer demand required to continue.”

The cruise was also due to star actors and directors linked to a number of classic horror films including Child’s Play, Candyman, Gremlins and Pet Sematary.

Music fans can still take to the sea though thanks to US pop group Matchbox Twenty, who have announced a “Matchbox Twenty Cruise” aboard the Carnival Imagination, sailing roundtrip from Florida to Nassau.

The musical voyage sails from December 6-9, with prices starting at $599 per person.
