Pay up or get cut off

EDITOR, The Tribune.

Surely it is time we all are more conscious of our responsibilities to paying our bills even if we are living way over what we can afford?

BEC for example, BEC brought the status quo on itself as over the years they allowed people not to pay their bills in full and retaining services – try that at BTC or Cable?

BEC is owed $165m – owes $140m – Government said to owe BEC over $40m – certain hotels have high unpaid bills but their lights continue to shine but not mine because I went over 60-days with an unpaid balance.

The recent issue with Grand Bahama Power and certain political officials saying it was “unchristian GB Power cut them off ! - total poppycock ..... if as they finally came out and admitted the bills were not paid and they were disputing the interest on the unpaid totals then pay everything and argue over the interest – no, Government paid nothing so they expect the Power Co to keep their services on?

I read in a newspaper column that in Pakistan their BEC cut even the Presidential Palace/OPM Office, Ministries all off for non-payment – now that’s correct. Wonder if Mr Miller would do that?

Shocked to hear from Leslie Miller that BEC will not convert to LNG till 2020 – so high BEC bills for the next six years... Miller election in 2017, sir!
