NEW DESTINY Baptist Cathedral celebrated a 12-year milestone of Christian witness during its recently held anniversary service.
Since its inception, the church has impacted the lives of all who walk through its doors. And going forward the church hopes to continue in the same pattern, said Apostle Delton Fernander, senior pastor of the church.
“It has been a wonderful 12 years for my family and me serving God together with you. It has been such an honour for me to serve as pastor of this church. My family and I thank God for the privilege to provide leadership to this dynamic congregation. As we celebrate under the theme a prepared people poised and ready for elevation we know that God wants our very best,” he said.
“The accomplishments of the past 12 years are noteworthy, but God wants us to do more. I believe we are becoming more and more a church that express gratitude and generosity that practices and shares a progressive positive and practical relationship with God. We are sharing hope-filled messages with our nation and the world while learning and growing in the areas of worship, training, outreach, relationship and discipleship. It is my fervent prayer that we remain faithful and steadfast in the things of the Lord. Let us expect much more and attempt more for God,” he said.
New Destiny was officially started on May 11, 2002 after Apostle Fernander said he received a call from God to embark on a new journey. The church is currently located on Baillou Road.
Founding members are Apostle Fernander, Minister Richard Munroe (deceased), Deacon Norman Dean, Deacon Haverson McKenzie, and Elder Fealy Demeritte Jr.
