THE Catholic Board of Education basketball season moved into the second week with a double header between the St Thomas Moore and St Francis and Joseph boys and girls teams at Loyola Hall.
The St Thomas Moore’s Sparks boys recorded their second win with a strong defensive effort, dismantling the St Francis and Joseph Shockers 26-10 with a strong fourth quarter push. Brian Carey and Andre Arthur were too much for the slow feet of the Shockers, pouring in 22 of the team’s points.
St Francis and Joseph fared better in the girls contest, with the Shockers getting their second win thanks to gritty performances by Tanisha Floyd and Arielle Sands. They beat St Thomas Moore convincingly 12-3.
Head Coach of the Sparks, Nkamo Ferguson, called his team’s effort amazing. “Everyone played up to par, they all performed well and executed the plays,” he said.
League play will continues tomorrow with a double header.
