POLICE shot and arrested a 30-year-old man on Saturday after he allegedly stabbed an officer during a foot chase in Yellow Elder Gardens.
Shortly before 9.45am, officers responded to a dispute between two men on Seymour Street. When officers arrived, one of the men fled on foot. During the brief pursuit, the suspect allegedly pulled a sharp object and attacked one of the officers, stabbing and injuring the officer’s right hand.
The man was shot and taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
Meanwhile, police said a 46-year-old man died on Tuesday after a traffic accident on Carmichael Road West the day before. He was hospitalised following the crash but later succumbed to his injuries.
