A MAN was sentenced to 30 months in prison yesterday after admitting he kept an unlicenced gun in his home on Matthew Street earlier this week.

Joseph Dickinson, 40, appeared alongside Rotunda Dickinson, 46, and Lamaneka Brennen, 18, on charges of possession of an unlicenced firearm and possession of ammunition before Magistrate Lennox Coleby.

Police said they found a pink Glock Austria 43 9mm pistol and 11 rounds of ammunition during a search of Dickinson’s home on July 28.

Joseph Dickinson was the only defendant to plead guilty, with his two co‑accused entering not‑guilty pleas. With Dickinson taking full responsibility, prosecutors withdrew the charges against the others.

He was sentenced to 30 months in prison. Before being taken into custody, he was allowed a brief moment with relatives in the courtroom.
