Governor General Dame Cynthia ‘Mother’ Pratt (left) welcomed Acting High Commissioner, Phumeza Mukendi of the Republic of South Africa during a courtesy call on Emancipation Day at Fox Hill  Community Centre.  Also present were the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fred Mitchell (left in group photo) and South African Honorary Consul Werner Gruner. The Acting High Commissioner visited The Bahamas for Emancipation Day festivities and for commemoration of the 40th Anniversary of the Nassau Accord, which played a role in ending apartheid in South Africa.
