A 37-year-old man was remanded into custody yesterday after he was accused of sexually assaulting a 30-year-old woman in San Salvador last month.
Assistant Chief Magistrate Carolyn Vogt Evans arraigned Whitney Burrows on rape.
Burrows allegedly raped a young woman in Cockburn Town on January 26.
The defendant was not required to enter a plea. Burrows was informed that his matter would proceed to the Supreme Court through a voluntary bill of indictment (VBI).
He will be remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until his VBI is potentially served on May 22.
Ryszard Humes represented the accused.
Assistant Superintendent of Police S Coakley served as the prosecutor.
