A 17-year-old boy was imprisoned on Friday after he was accused of the fatal shooting of Miler Thelamour on West Street last year.
Senior Magistrate Algernon Allen Jr arraigned the teenaged defendant, whose name is being withheld due to him being a minor, for murder.
The defendant’s guardian was present for his arraignment.
Prosecutors allege that the defendant opened fire on Miler Thelamour as he stood outside his house on West Street on September 13, 2024. The accused allegedly chased Thelamour into his home and gunned him down.
The 23-year-old victim in this matter succumbed to his injuries at Princess Margaret Hospital on October 4, 2024.
The defendant was not required to enter a plea at that time. He was informed that his matter will proceed to the Supreme Court through a voluntary bill of indictment (VBI).
He was also told of his right to apply for bail through the higher court.
The accused will be remanded to Simpson Penn Center for Boys until his VBI is potentially served on June 30.
