A MAN was remanded to prison yesterday after being accused of a near-fatal stabbing at a bar on Cordeaux Avenue last weekend.

YaKuba Adderley, 51, was arraigned before Senior Magistrate Kara Turnquest-Deveaux on a charge of attempted murder.

He is accused of stabbing Leon Thompson in the neck during an altercation at KJ’s Bar on July 19. The victim was treated in the hospital and survived the attack.

Adderley was not required to enter a plea. He was informed that the case will be transferred to the Supreme Court by a voluntary bill of indictment (VBI).

He was also advised of his right to apply for bail in the higher court.

Adderley will be held at the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until his VBI is expected to be served on October 23.
