A PITBULL was injured after a police officer shot the animal on Fire Street, Coconut Grove, on Tuesday.
Police said the dog charged at them as they conducted inquiries at a residence, prompting an officer to discharge his service weapon out of fear.
The owner took the dog to an animal hospital for medical care.
