A PINEWOOD Gardens man who terrorised businesses across New Providence in a months-long stealing spree from laundromats, restaurants, bars, and convenience stores was sentenced to four years in prison on Friday after admitting to a string of break-ins and thefts.
Wayne Toussaint, 56, of Pinewood Drive, pleaded guilty to a total of seven charges: two counts of shop-breaking, four counts of shop-breaking and stealing, one count of shop-breaking, stealing and receiving, and one count of possession of house-breaking implements.
The court heard that Toussaint’s offences spanned from May to November 2025, including incidents at Superwash Headquarters, Shuvon Convenience Store, Tropical Gyro Restaurant, and several bars across the island.
According to court dockets, Toussaint’s most recent offence occurred around 1am on November 2 at Chance’s Bar, located at the corner of Soldier Road and Lady Slipper Avenue, where he was found in possession of offensive instruments with intent to commit house-breaking.
On October 30, he broke into Jamaican Finger Licking Bar on East Street South, stealing an assortment of beers and liquor, three Samsung flat-screen TVs, one HP laptop, and one blue Amazon tablet valued at $2,607, property of Shereka Beckford.
He was also found guilty of dishonestly receiving two TVs and a tablet worth $620 from the same establishment.
That same day, Toussaint stole a black tablet and other items valued at $3,000 from Emilus Northelus, owner of Northelus Minibar on Buttonwood Avenue.
Earlier in the year, between May 24 and 26, Toussaint broke into Tropical Gyro Restaurant on Prince Charles Drive, stealing a cash register valued at $3,000 containing $500 in cash, property of Kimberly Marshall.
He later struck again between October 26 and 27, stealing liquor and cigars valued at $1,271.75 from Northellus Minibar.
Toussaint was also linked to the August 20–21 break-in at Superwash Headquarters on Soldier Road, where he and another suspect stole $5,800.
Between October 15 and 25, he broke into Shuvon Convenience Store on Guinep Street, Pinewood Gardens, stealing $100, and between October 20 and 21 he stole $3 from Stop, Shop and Go on Buttonwood Avenue.
